Ruth is the current chair of HCT 2018. Originally a citizen of Glasgow, she came to Hawkhurst via London over 20 years ago. She has worked as a business librarian in Tunbridge Wells, and in the public libraries of Cranbrook and Hawkhurst.
She finds Hawkhurst a great place to live in: it has many amenities but is still a village, a place where one can meet people and always see a friendly face. Ruth enjoys getting out and about into the beautiful countryside and being involved in the local U3A group, where she has discovered the delights of play-reading, bridge and family history research. Ruth is passionate about the need for a really good Community Centre in Hawkhurst, a place worthy of our lively village.
