A two year forever home search came to an end at Hawkhurst in May 2019 for Janet, her partner, son and two dogs. “I just loved the village feel. As we walked around, we found everyone to be so friendly, welcoming and open. We liked the attractive colonnade, the Kino, the shops, pubs, butchers and bakers all there for us to walk to.”
Janet had been a swim teacher for 30 years and an assistant Beaver Leader for 20 years at her local Scout group in West Wickham. She successfully ran her own playgroup nursery for 15 years aided by her extensive book-keeping skills. No stranger to hard work, Janet joined HCT 2018 at first because she wanted to be involved and integrate with the village and has quickly become hands on for events and projects.
“My favourite place has to be the footpaths to and from White’s Lane. As I walk the dogs in the mornings there is such a gentle beauty to the landscape. It really is a great start to the day’s work ahead.”
